When I arrived home, the kids were wonderful. They barely paid attention to the puppy, which was exactly what I had hoped for. I gently reminded them to give her space and not to overwhelm her, allowing her the time she needed to settle in comfortably.
Experts say it generally takes around 72 hours for a new dog to adjust to their new environment. This critical period helps them decompress and process the overwhelming stimuli they face during their first few days at home.
In our case, I gave her two full days to settle before starting any training. I’m truly amazed at how quickly she’s picked up everything I’ve introduced so far—it’s been incredible to witness her progress.
She’s adventurous, intelligent, loving, and fiercely loyal, with a natural drive that sets her apart.
It’s clear she’s shaping up to be an extraordinary addition to our family and a remarkable example of her breed.
